Home vs. Public

There's something about being in public and around people that changes Jackson's mood. No matter what, if he's having a rough time, we can get in the car and head out to some store or place and he's a completely different baby. It's great and annoying all at the same time. The worst is when I run into someone and I'm telling them about how fussy he's been and he's sitting there smiling, waving, patting, giggling, etc. I'm like, "Really, Jackson? Really? Couldn't you at least whine or something?"

This last week has been trying. We'll blame it on teething... again. (Curse you, molars! After awhile, it's hard to have the same sympathy for teething. I know that sounds bad, but it's true.)

You'd think if he was in severe pain, being in public wouldn't change that feeling, but apparently it's magic.

I don't mind going to Target and the mall, but I kind of just wish my baby could be happy at home too.

Courtland is the EXACT same way! UGH...and I feel the same way as you. Thank you for sharing your experience.
It is good to know I am not alone!

Sophie does the SAME THING! It's so frustrating to be trying to explain why something's been hard, and Sophie's just smiling and flirting. Sigh.

Also, I totally feel the same about teething, especially when it lasts for WEEKS.

Thanks for saying something!
