My two new obsessions...

So, this semester of classes is called the cohort semester. I have like 6 classes and they each deal with the pedagogy of subjects- so like, how to teach math, how to teach literacy, etc. The fun thing is that its the same 25 girls from class to class. So we all know what's going on and we get to know each other really well. Then for about 5-6 weeks, starting at the end of February, we all go into a school and observe and do a little bit of teaching. Then next September is when I do my actual student teaching. There's my plan for this year. So yes.

But my obsession comes from my Social Studies class. My teacher has let us use her scholastic book order so we get children's books for super cheap, which is amazing. Children's books can be freaking expensive- when you think about a hardback book costs between $15-$20 and then you want as many as possible for your library. It adds up quick. So my obsession began with children's books. We'll get a new book order like 5 times or something this semester. With the first one, I bought 8-10 books. Then I got 6 books from something else (I can't remember). Then yesterday, I went and bought 8 paperback books from Barnes & Noble. Oh my gosh, it's soo fun. I keep reading them to Leo. I don't know if he gets the same satisfaction as I do. Last night, I read Skippy Jon Jones to him which requires a Spanish accent and it is sooo cute! He was kind of like "that's great honey...." But I love it!
My second obsession is from a christmas gift. My brother-in-law, Mike, got us a Wii! It is absolutely awesome. I've been trying really hard to always do my homework before I play, but I'm not perfect. I love the game, Puzzle Quest. Yes, I'm aware it's dorky. But it's so addictive!

I'm an Aunt!

So, my sister-in-law had a sweet little girl on January 7th and I have been able to see her twice. She is absolutely beautiful and perfect. Her name is Brielle and I love her! She is the first baby in our immediate family and its going to be so much fun to have a baby around. It was so cute to see Leo with a little baby because I've never seen it. He was so sweet with her. Here a couple pictures:

Really?

4 fillings... really?

I just got back from the dentist and I was really tempted to take a picture of myself because my face feels huge and heavy. I had a small filling on each part of my mouth: top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right. My dentist was a dear old man and tried to make jokes while he was working on me. This did not help. I kept choking on my spit, trying to laugh at his jokes. My bottom jaw (lol) always needs more numbing stuff than normal and I should probably remember this and tell him prior to but I forget and then they have to do a couple tries. So he ended up putting a lot in, which is fine but now my face feels heavy. I know this is very common and you guys are probably like, "Yeah, thats what its like when you go to the dentist." But it feels great to complain.

Now I'm going to work on homework. I tried to take a nap but since I slept in until 9, napping 3 hrs later is kind of hard.
