Life Lately

I can tell life is pretty uneventful because I have nothing to blog about. I've been a slacker on taking pictures lately plus it's so gray and wintery outside that we rarely do anything exciting. We did go to Boise this past weekend and Jackson was a champ in the car. He slept for most of the drive. So did Leo.

Jackson is so fun right now. He just explores our house all day long. Our main source of conflict is the staircase. He can go up pretty quickly, but doesn't have clue to come back down on his tummy. The boy has no fear and will just go head-first. Here's a few pictures of him off my phone, lo siento for the poor quality.

(I finally created a better barricade so he can't get quite so close to the TV)

No walking yet. My guess is he'll do it right around a year. He walks along everything so he's getting closer.

It's fun to be at home with him and watch him learn and grow.

Home vs. Public

There's something about being in public and around people that changes Jackson's mood. No matter what, if he's having a rough time, we can get in the car and head out to some store or place and he's a completely different baby. It's great and annoying all at the same time. The worst is when I run into someone and I'm telling them about how fussy he's been and he's sitting there smiling, waving, patting, giggling, etc. I'm like, "Really, Jackson? Really? Couldn't you at least whine or something?"

This last week has been trying. We'll blame it on teething... again. (Curse you, molars! After awhile, it's hard to have the same sympathy for teething. I know that sounds bad, but it's true.)

You'd think if he was in severe pain, being in public wouldn't change that feeling, but apparently it's magic.

I don't mind going to Target and the mall, but I kind of just wish my baby could be happy at home too.
