Ny Trip

New York was absolutely amazing! My sister was the picture taker and so I'm gonna wait and post more information when she emails me copies.

2 days to go!

Woo-hoo, 2 days til I get to go to New York! I'm a tad excited! The only thing I'm stressed about is the weather. Everyone cross your fingers for good weather! I don't mind if it snows once I get there, but the plane ride worries me.

I had such a fun night yesterday. Leo and I were bored so we decided to make Christmas cards and have hot cocoa. They are so cute! If I weren't so lazy, I would take pics of them and upload them, but eh.

Everyone needs to go download "Poison" by Beyonce. It's my new favorite song.

I hope everyone has an awesome Christmas!

Ode to the Overachievers in my Life

The first overachiever in my life is my mom: She ran a marathon this weekend! 26.2 miles! She's been training for it for like 10 weeks or so and has been working so hard. I really wish I could've been there to see her cross the line. I love her so much and she has really inspired to maybe get off my rump every once in a while and exercise.

The second overachiever in my life is my sister-n-law, Adrienne: She graduated with her Masters in Guidance Counseling this weekend! Seriously, I don't know why, but I always tear up at graduations. Especially this one, because I was watching the people, who had to be at least 50 or 60, and they were getting their Phd. That is so awesome!

So if you're looking for a little motivation- hopefully these two people can do the same for you as they do for me!

Days til Christmas: 11
Days til New York: 9 :)
Days til I'm done with finals: 2!!

Fun weekend

I had a great weekend. I wish I was better about taking pictures because then I would actually be able to show you all the fun stuff I did.

Friday- Neither Leo or I had to work, so we had a very relaxing day. That night we went up to my sister-in-law, Genevieve's house and made gingerbread houses. I always am so excited for this but I get frustrated when my turns out so ugly. I don't know why I even care. We also played some Mario Brothers on the Wii. Man I want a Wii so badly. I'm asking for one as a graduation present if I ever graduate -hint hint, if maybe my mom or dad reads this :)

Saturday- Again, neither of us had to work so we slept in, exercised, laid around. We also fixed our Christmas tree and watched Miracle on 34th Street. It was a delightful day. Then that night, Gen and her husband, Arthur came over to help us replace some of our lights. Arthur knows more about house stuff than anyone I know, so we were glad he came to help us. We have now gotten rid of 3 brass lights, halle-freaking-lujah. Only 85 more to go.

Sunday- Then today, it finally snowed! And its beautiful! It made me so giddy to see everything completely white. Our little backyard was covered in birds trying to get the last seeds of of stuff. We had a yummy lunch of steak, baked potatoes, and broccoli. Now, it's time for my Sunday nap and most likely some hot chocolate afterward.

Days til Christmas: 19
Days til New York: 17 : )
Days til I'm done with school: hopefully 10!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was wonderful. Leo and I headed up to Boise late Wednesday night. Leo had to work until 6 so we got up there around midnight. Leo has a lot of extended family in Boise so that's where we usually go. We stayed at his cousins, Phil and Whitney's house. We always have fun with them so I was glad we could stay there.

Thursday was great, I got a little excited with the rolls and mashed potatoes. That's usually where I spend most of my eating. Then, of course, I had 3 pieces of pumpkin pie- hey, there's no judging here. It was thanksgiving. That night, we just hung out, played games and talked. Leo played the piano while Phil sang. It was really fun.

Friday morning, we left at 7 because I had to work at 3. Black Friday was just dandy. Not as busy at night as previous years, but supposedly the morning was nuts. Saturday wasn't crazy either, busy but I got sent home early because they didn't need 20 of us.

I put up my Christmas tree in my bay window :) Sadly though, it's a pre-lit fake tree and the middle strand of lights is out. Boo. So I need to figure out if I just need to replace one light or if I should just take off all the lights and put on my own. Either way, it's very pretty and makes me happy. I don't feel like I have as much Christmas obsession this year, because it hasn't freaking snowed! I'm okay with it, but it would feel more Christmasy if it snowed.

Hope you guys had a wonderful thanksgiving too!

Boo homework.

Avoiding my homework.... So many projects... so little determination. I can do this though. It's not like I'm even watching So You Think You Can Dance this season. I know, sad, right? But my new distraction is Grey's Anatomy. Granted, it's been on for like 5 seasons or something, but I've just discovered its' amazingness and let's just say, I'm utterly obsessed. Utterly- that's kind of a funny word once you spell it. utter-ly.

Ugh- I don't want to do homework.

I'm going to see New Moon at midnight this Thursday with my friend Amy. I reread the book this past weekend. I don't consider myself a crazy person with Twilight but I am really excited for the movie.

My husband rocks

Guess who starts his masters program in January... that's right- my hubby does! I'm so proud of him. To celebrate, we went and played tennis, ate Del Taco and got an ice cream cone from Macy's. I know, we are extremely exciting people.

Why I am so tired today...

So, let's just discuss my last couple days which will also is the reason to why I have a massive diet coke next to me, desperately trying to keep me awake before my next 4 hours of classes...

Last weekend at work, I was told that we were having a big visit at the store, meaning some upper management was coming to tell us the things we do wrong and ignore the things we do right. In order to prepare for this, we had to do some serious cleaning and straightening. So Sunday night, I had to work for a couple hours and make sure the clothes were in the right size order and full and beautiful and tags tucked, etc. Yes, you too could have these skills if you worked retail.

Theeeen, I originally had monday off, but my friend called me and was sick and needed me to cover her shift. So, I go to work from 10-6 on Monday and spend the entire 8 hrs refolding denim, which if I do say so- I rock at folding jeans. So if you have a closet of jeans, I can make them beautiful. I know, impressive.

I also had Tuesday off originally, buuut, because of our new to-do list, I went into work after class and worked 3-midnight. I spent my night refolding the rest of the denim, mopping, and stressing for the visit.

Wednesday (Today) was the big visit day, I had to be at work at 8 am, after not going to sleep until 1 am and then getting up at 645, because apparently corporate people would prefer you to shower... So, yeah I was tired. So Mr. Vice President of company rolls in with some other people and they spend about an hr in the store, and for most of that hr, Mr. VP is on his cellphone not even discussing our store and then they head out. The entire time I was ringing customers so I couldn't even give him my memorized speech of my responsibilities and contributions. So, yeah. No freaking big deal.

Basically, I'm really tired and I have blisters from denim.. not actually.

I know that this was way more than you wanted to know about job and most of you guys are pretty jealous because your life is not this exciting. Off to class. Peace.

I love this time of year

I know most people get so annoyed when it starts to get cold, especially when it happens so early. But I love it- it makes me giddy beyond belief. I love the thought of scarves, sweaters, and most of all- boots. I also love thinking about Christmas coming and the wonderful activities that surround the end of the year holidays. Today for lunch I had a big bowl of chicken noodle soup and tonight, I had hot chocolate n toast. My belly is nice n warm.

Plus, how could I forget about socks. Socks are the best for cold weather. I hate socks during summer- sweaty feet are awful. But, during the fall n winter- socks get you through freezing nights and especially when you have to wake up early in the morning. I have quite the collection of patterned socks and when I was at Target a couple days ago- I saw a bunch of socks that were each under a dollar. I bought most of them.

Anyway, I just thought I'd confess how much I love right now- even though when everyone around me is like "Ugh, there is already snow in the mountains!", I'll usually just say stuff like, "Yeah, that sucks!" that way they don't think I'm crazy, but inside I'm like- "Yes, there is already snow in the mountains!"

Confession of Habits

So, while I was doing stuff around the house this morning, I became very aware of some bad habits I have and I feel like I should confess these, so this is the post of Bad Habits and Good Habits.

Top 3 Bad Habits

1. Leaving my clothes in random places- I layer up in the morning because I'm always colder in the morning and then by the time I get home in the afternoon, I'm always hot- so I tend to de-layer right as I get in the door. Which means I have jackets, sweaters, and shoes everywhere in my house. Underneath the coffee table, on the staircase, next to the computer chair. It's pretty impressive. When my closet starts looking emptier, I decide to gather my clothes from all over the place. Today was one of those days.

2. Biting my nails-
I have had this bad habit for years and years, because of this, my hands look like a 5 year olds. Whenever I visit my dad, he still to this day, smacks my hands when I pull them up to bite my nails. It's kind of funny. I'll go on random spurts when I won't bite them for like 2 months but then I'll have a stressful assignment or watch an intense movie and it's all downhill.

3. Popping zits-
Sorry if this grosses y'all out, but I think it's rather enjoyable. Anytime I see a zit coming to life on my face or my husbands, I attack it like a banchee. Leo used to think it was so painful, but now he is used to me poking at his face. Poor hubby. Hey, I put it under "BAD" habit, I'm not that proud of it.

Top 3 Good Habits

1. Dishes- I'm pretty good at staying on top of dishes. A dishwasher makes this pretty easy. Plus, it's rather satisfying to have clean counters.

2. Taking care of my stuff when I walk in the door- This might sound weird, but when I walk in, I put my backpack down, my purse on the hook, and my keys/cellphone on the shelf by the door. The reason I have discovered this being so useful is because we could put this under Leo's "bad" habit list. I love him dearly, but life would be a lot easier for him if he would take things out of his pockets and put them on the shelf. Otherwise they wind up in some weird spots.

3. Moisturizing my face- I used to not be good at this, but with the dry Utah air, I moisturize everyday and if I ever forget, it feels like my face can't move as well.

I have to tell y'all my current obsession for music. So, everyone needs to download Regina Spektor's new album, plus her song- Us, off the soundtrack- 500 Days of Summer. It's so good. Specifically the songs- Eet, Blue Lips, Folding Chair, Two Birds, and Genius of the Year.

The stress of Wicked

Soo.. this Christmas, my dad, my sisters and I are going to New York for the first time and we're stoked! Well, I didn't know Wicked but I knew I wanted to see it so I've been rather diligent in making sure that was the Broadway musical we would see. I've become rather obsessed with all things Wicked, Leo's getting used to it... sort of. My job for the trip, of course, was then to get these Wicked tickets. Today I was on Ticket master going to get the tickets and I was flipping back between Ebay and Ticket master. Ticket master was cheaper so I decided to just do it and buy them. Wellllll, when my confirmation page pulled up...

::: dun dun dun :::

Instead of it saying 4 tix booked for Sun. Dec. 27, it said Sun. SEPTEMBER 27th.... yeah I know. Sweet niblets, I flipped out. I started bawling and yelled at Leo to come fix it! He found the customer service number and got on the phone, while I ran around trying not to hyperventilate. I thought, there is noo way they would switch the tix or refund my money! But lo and behold, my sweet husband talked to them and they switched it to the correct date and we even got better seats.

So, basically all is well. But, it could've not been well. So props to Ticketmaster for being ever so kind.

Many moons..

Alright, so its been many moons since I've blogged, but I've been pretty busy. Not really, my life is a bore. But I figured I needed an excuse for my lack of blogging. I got the craving for a good blog post because one of my classes is a technology class and I had to make a blog for it. That blog is pretty funny too. I have to post about what I've learned in class and so far we've learned about making a website and other things of a technological nature. So yeah, good stuff.

What has happened in the past 3 months. I'll tell you.

Summer happened. So you think you can dance ended just grandly, with Jeanine winning, my heart sung that night I was so happy. We went on a vacation to Tejas, as usual. Then we came home and worked and played. School started a couple weeks ago and so now I am back to being a student.

My classes really are enjoyable and my major consists of all girls, the teachers are a bunch of adorable moms and basically every class is fun. One class is a music class and I have to.... nay. I have the privilege of recording myself singing My Country, tis of Thee. Yes, I know, you wish you could your hands on such a piece of goodness, but it is hidden until the next time I have to record myself.

What else...

Leo and I have been playing tennis quite a bit lately, at least once every weekend for the past month or so. I get so excited to play and I'm usually pretty happy throughout the first couple games, even if I'm not winning and then by the 6th game or so, if I'm not winning- it turns into such a silently tense game. I always try to laugh it off but inside, I'm reeling (word?), eh fit the moment. The worst part is that he doesn't even try annnnd he knows how to hit to places I can't get to. I apparently only know how to hit it right back to him, so while he stands there, I am booking it from side to side trying to reach the ball. All in all (I love that phrase, that was my go-to phrase for the times I was stumped on how to begin a conclusion)... all in all, I still make sure we wake up early enough to get a court, so I must still love it.

Hopefully, I'll keep up on this, but resist judging if I don't.

Pigs and P90, etc.

Pigs

Sooo- this past weekend, I went down to Blanding to see my family- my mom, loo, callie, and cody drove up from Tejas. I also have quite a bit of extended family there and we had a lot of fun! We went and saw some of the largest pigs I have ever seen in my entire life. The mama pig had some cute little piglets that everyone loved. Here are some shots of that:

It was way fun

P90x

Alright so we're now on to recovery week. This week is going to go Yoga, Core Synergistics, Kenpo, Stretch, Cardio, Yoga. I missed the first Yoga because I was driving home from Blanding and then had to work late. I did Core today and I finally loved it! I had hated it the past 3 weeks because it had so many pushups. Today, I did legit pushups- not like knees on the floor, but feet on the floor- like man pushups! Heck yes.

New obsessions

I've decided that you all need to go download the new song from Black eyed peas- "I gotta feeling". Tis amazing. Another one is the whole album from Ting Tings- I heart their song- "Great Dj". Everyone also needs to watch So You Think You Can Dance on Wednesdays and Thursdays and vote for Jason and Jeanine- they're the best!

That's all for now!

P 90 X

So I have a new motivation for exercise and it came in the form of P90x. For those of you who don't know what p90 is- you really should brush up on your current infomercials.

The basics of the program are the following and hopefully Tony will be proud of my knowledge:

1. 90 day program
2. muscle confusion- 3 weeks of intense workouts, 1 recovery week, 3 weeks of different intense workouts, 1 recovery week, lastly- 3 weeks of different intense workouts and a last recovery week.

Most people that know me know I am the queen of getting pumped up about exercising and then getting way bored after a couple of weeks- Leo can seriously testify of this. Buuuuut- this time I'm for real. Lol.

I started June 1st. I'm pretty bored so I'm gonna explain all of my daily workouts to y'all.

Day 1- Core Synergistics- Boo, the first dvd hated me. This was hard, I can't even explain it because most of the time I was just staring at the tv trying to figure out what the heck they were doing. I'm doing it again tomorrow so we'll see how it goes.

Day 2- Cardio X- this dvd rocked! It was just lots of intense cardio

Day 3- Shoulders & arms- most of this was lifting weights and it was good stuff. I barely used any weight because I didn't know how hard it would be and it was too easy, I'm gonna add more this upcoming week.

Day 4- Yoga- oh yoga, sure lots of people like you but my unflexible unbalanced body doesn't. But since those are the things that yoga will help with, I suffered through a 1/3 of this dvd. Dude, it's 1 1/2 hrs long!

Day 5- Legs & Back- this was good stuff! I had to do pullups and lots of them, luckily I had one leg on a chair so it wasn't that hard. Either way, this one was a favorite of mine!

Day 6- Kenpo- this is basically kickboxing which I looove! I feel so rough n tough when I'm punching but I know if there were a mirror around, the mirror would laugh at how pathetic my punches are.

Day 7- rest

So this is how it will be for the next 2 weeks! I'll update on Recovery week- I know you all will want to know about it.

Finally!

Goodness, we finally got Internet today... I have been dying for it, mostly because of my email. Which is hilarious because I checked it tonight and had like 50 in my inbox and thought, "Wow, I'm so needed!" Then after I deleted the Redbox and shopping emails, I only had 8. Ego check.

The condo is absolutely fabulous! We're loving it. It was funny because last night, before we fell asleep, Leo and I were like you know we love our home but it doesn't have the satisfaction we expected it too... blah blah blah. Then we started talking about all the things we didn't notice, like the inside of our home feeling like a sauna, the crick in our backs from the previous couch, and procrastinated dish washing! So, let's just say- we are flipping ecstatic about where we live!

Thank you very much, I have cooked more times in this past week or two then I have in a looong time. And its been fun! well... more fun than before.

Umm.. not sure what else to write but I'll try to put up pics tomorrow of the place, 'Tis very fun!

Peace!

Homesick Moment

So, I've been away from my family in Texas for almost a full 4 years and I feel like I've gotten pretty used to being away from them, but then I have days like today and I realize just how much I miss my family. This post won't make sense to very many people, but oh well.

Here is why I got so homesick.

I was listening to the radio yesterday and I heard the name Kidd Kraddick mentioned. Kidd Kraddick was the main guy from the morning radio show that I listened to a lot in middle school and high school. Probably 4 mornings out of every week I listened to "Kidd Kraddick in the morning" on the way to school or getting ready or the many times I was helping my mom throw newspapers. I knew that he was played in other places besides Dallas but I didn't think he was in Utah. Anyway, I'm kind of rambling buuut basically, Kidd Kraddick is being played here now with movin' 100.7 in the mornings and I listened to him today! I seriously teared up... Yeah, for real. The show had almost all the same people and I'm gonna list them like you guys know who they are. Big Al was there! and Kelly and even Shannon! and they all sounded the same. They said "Random Man"! Which I always say, quoting that show, and no one ever knows what I'm talking about.

So yes, it brought back so many memories. I thought of the Friday mornings when I would get ready with my older sister and they just played a bunch of good songs all mixed together.

::sigh::

I appreciate you guys bearing through this post because let's be honest, this probably didn't mean anything to y'all, but, it did to me!

BTW- We signed the papers for our condo and can start moving in on Monday! :)

Hilarious Exercise Video

So, I bought this new FIRM dvd called Cardio Dance Slim. Yes... Dance. Dude, I knew it was going to be funny, but not this funny! It was hilarious. It might not be as funny because I can't actually show the moves on here... I'm not sure I'd want to either, lol. Buuut, just imagine extremely dorky dance moves- lots of shimmying and pointing from side to side. However, the best part is that the instructor kept saying stuff like- "You can use this one at the clubs!" and "This one will get you all the guys!"

So dang enjoyable.

Packing

Today was a packing day... I'm not actually moving for another 2 weeks or so. Buuut, I love going through stuff and throwing out things I haven't used since I moved in. Anyway, I have a bunch of books but I'm realizing that books are really heavy and so I've been putting like 10 books in each box which makes the labels sound like this: "Books & Coats"... "Books & Curtains"... "Books & Junk drawer stuff". Now that I'm typing this, it's actually not that interesting, but I needed a break from packing.

P.S. I'm absolutely obsessed with HGTV. It's on 24-7.

I am such an adult.

I'm going to summarize my super productive day.

These are the things I planned on doing and did:

Dishes
Return redbox movies
Return library book
Pick up a laptop from work for Leo
Call and set up a car appt. for Betsy (which is awesome for me, I hate car stuff)

This is the thing I did not plan on doing buuuut still accomplished very well:

Leo and I are moving into a condo in about 3 weeks, yes, it's freaking awesome.... and we ordered a bunch of furniture through a lady I work with who had a connection to a furniture seller that sells at cost. We ordered the furniture about 1 1/2 weeks ago and it usually takes 4-6 weeks. Well.... not this time, it arrived today! The reason this was so crazy was because of 4 things:

1. No place to store the furniture
2. No truck to pick up the furniture
3. Leo was out of town and I had no manpower to lift the furniture
4. We had to pick up the furniture today

So, luckily, I am an adult and took care of all of these things! Let's look at each dilemma:

1. I called and had a storage unit ready to store the furniture
2. My co-worker said I could borrow her truck
3. I called 2 guys from church and thankfully, they were available and willing to help!
4. Well, let's just say, we took care of everything and now my beautiful furniture is waiting in a storage unit to be used in a couple of weeks!

I know, I'm amazing.

Quick update

School is almost over.... hallelujah. I plugged my cable back in and let's just say, my weakness for tv-watching still exists. Tonight, Leo and I had a dorky movie night. We watched The Return of the King (which I adore, yes I'm not afraid to say it) and 2 different Star Wars movies. So enjoyable.

Condo stuff is going fantastic, all is going well. I am not going to let my heart get crazy until the day we move in but on that day, watch out- I'm going to be a giddy girl.

I'm ready for warm weather, I keep wearing shorts thinking it will help bring Spring on, but then I just end up being freezing.

Lo siento, I don't have tons to blog about.

Condo Continuation

Sweet niblets, today was freaking awesome!! So I've been telling this story a lot on the phone, so I might not tell the whole long drawn out story, but I'll give ya the important stuff.

Last night we offered on our second condo. We definitely low-balled (Yes I know my real estate language is impressive) and they countered back today just perfectly! and we accepted! Woop woop! So, I'm not saying we have the condo, I'm trying not to say that until we have actually closed and moved in, which isn't going to happen until June. 1st, buuuuut! It's still freaking awesome! Heck yes for adulthood.

Funny Conversation

So, 5 minutes ago, Leo and I had a conversation and I decided it was blogworthy.

I used to think my husband and I were cool, not after this conversation.

Leo: Should we go to a movie tonight?
Whitney: Tonight?
Leo: Yeah, let's go see a dollar movie.
Whitney: I guess.. I'll see what's playing

::::: pulling up dollar movie list :::::

Whitney: We could see Inkheart?
Leo: Yeah, but you don't really seem like you want to go to the movies.
Whitney: Well, I don't know, it is a Thursday night. (Yes, I'm 21 and I still abide the school night rule.)
Leo: (Direct quote) I know but I feel like being wild and crazy tonight.

There you have it, we are officially loser-ish because we think seeing Inkheart on a Thursday night is wild and crazy. I guess I should have seen this type of life coming though, I did meet him at a Crochet Club.

Lazy month of March

So, this was supposed to be an awesome month for me. It was, don't get me wrong, but not quite as productive as I had hoped. The reason March was supposed to be such a great month was because 3 out of 5 of my classes were cancelled for the entire month. Why? Okay, I'll tell you.

I am in the Early Childhood Education program- I will be qualified for Pre-K to 3rd. Anyway, most of my classes are filled with Elementary Education majors (1st grade to 6th). They have to spend the entire month of march in the schools, so we ECE people got the month off.

Now I planned on writing two papers, finishing my portfolio, studying for finals this entire time. Did this happen? No. And I just realized that March is over and next week I have to go back to my classes. Dangit. Oh well.

On a different note, here's a list of things I looked forward to:

1. The sun coming out.

2. Connected to the first, but I'm ready for the sun to touch my skin and for me to not look quite as albino. I tried that whole bronzer thing, but pretty sure my neck is supposed to match my face and for that matter, my arms are supposed to match my head and my legs are in the same boat.

3. This semester to be over.

4. Find out more about our condo searching.

5. Going and seeing my family.

6. So You Think You Can Dance

7. My hair to get long.

El Fin.

I want a dog.

So, I've wanted a dog for a long time, but I've always known that I couldn't take care of one very well with how much I'm away from home and plus that whole apt life doesn't help. With me and Leo looking at condos, a dog has slipped into my mind again! I would like either a Teacup Yorkie, Teacup Schnauzer, Schnorkie, or possibly a long-haired Chihuahua (Leo says over my dead body to the chihuahua). Now I spend my time googling breeders and KSL ads.

P.s. while writing this post, I found out most Teacup Schnauzers are over $2,000. Aw shoot.

Annoying....

So, today, I had to work from 9-3, then class from 4-5, then I needed to study and take a test after that. So, I took two notebooks to work- one for my class, and one for my test, which was for another class. Anyway.... to make a long story short, I left my two precious notebooks at the bus transit center, and didn't realize until halfway up to BYU. I immediately jumped off and got on the bus to go back to the transit center, only to find that they were gone! Seriously, who steals a notebook?! I asked the office and no one had turned any in. Boo, so now I have to go study for a test without my notes and I had written a kick butt review for my test tonight! Just had to get that off my chest.

Best pulled pork ever

Alright, my co-worker Shelly gave me this amazing recipe and since she's not a blogger, I'm going to share it for her!

Pulled Pork

3-5 lb. pork roast
1 cup of any kind of salsa
1 cup of brown sugar

Put roast in crockpot, frozen or thawed, pour salsa and brown sugar on.
Cook on high for 8-10 hrs.

I cooked mine for like 11 hrs (overnight) and it was delicious! I just shredded it afterwards and then we put it on buns with barbecue sauce or without. It was so good! Only thing is, for just two of us, it was a lot of meat, so now I have to get creative this week of how to use it. But yeah, try it, youll be happy you did!

My boring life.

Nothing in my life right now is too exciting, so I thought I'd share some of the boring things that are going on.

1. I have grown out my nails. ( I'm usually a biter. I'll be honest, I just bit them off again, but they were going strong for a couple weeks. )

2. Leo and I had a Narnia weekend (1st one on Fri. 2nd one on Sat.)

3. I beat Leo in Settlers of Catan (my odds at winning are getting better, aren't they?)

4. I have been working on my cursive r's while taking notes. They are looking mighty fine.

5. I have re-read many childhood favorite books. (Wrinkle in Time, Tuck Everlasting, Out of the Dust and many more will I be reading soon.)

6. Midterms are going on.

7. I made chili and cornbread for dinner on Sunday, gave Leo heartburn (woops.)

The one exciting thing that is kind of in pending mode right now is that we are seriously considering buying a condo! There's many pros and cons to this, but with the interest rates so low, we wouldn't be spending much more than our rent already is. More info about this decision will come soon.

That is my life right now. Peace.

A blogpost-worthy night....

So, folks, tonight was the night of nights, the night of nights (If anyone knows High School Musical 3, I'm singing the prom song..., I've been a lil obsessive the past few days)

I looove board games, but I have this problem where I get obsessed with one and want to play it every night non-stop & I guess Leo doesn't like that? Plus, it's usually only the two of us & yeah, not as fun. So, I talked him into playing a game tonight & he chose Battleship. I'm fine with that game, but he always wins. Like always.

However... tonight was different.

Tonight, using my immaculate intellect and indubitably clever wits, I kicked his trash. People, I whupped him three times in a row. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. Is it bad that I find so much joy in that?

Can I just tell you my cutest story ever?!

Okay, so I work at a kids clothing store & I have worked there for 4, almost 5 years. Yes, retail has made me somewhat bitter when it comes to angry moms, poopy diapers, return & coupon policies & the people who hate them, people who don't know what time the mall closes and don't care to notice that the music has turned off and the doors are shut and I'm giving them the stink eye. But! Every once in awhile, you will get a really friendly customer or an adorable baby that wants to play peek a boo and it makes the job not so annoying. Today had one of those rare occurrences.

The mailman brought in a letter, like normal. I glanced at it while walking over to give it to my manager and it looked different. But I didn't care too much. A little bit later, when my manager finally opened it, she discovered the sweetest letter ever! Which, this might not be very exciting to others, but it was to me!

A little girl wrote us a letter, basically thanking us for having such great clothes and for being so nice! K, seriously, this never happens! You don't understand, we deal with frustrated people all the time. So to receive a sweet letter from a cute little girl telling us how much she loves wearing our clothes made our day! Well, it made my whole weekend! She had all these cute little comments like, "My mom says they're reasonably priced!" Oh my gosh, I wish I could've typed the whole letter, so adorable. On my break, my manager and I wrote her back but it was pretty difficult because we really couldn't ask or write anything personal. We didn't want to come off like desperate stalkers to her mom. So, we pretty much just said thanks for being so nice... yadda yadda yadda. All in all, I now vow to make my children write random thank-you letters so that other people can feel the same joy I felt today.

All About Me

I am - married to a wonderful man.

I want
a puppy.

I hear -
the dog behind our apartment complex barking, non-stop barking.

I never
resist the opportunity for a "face-tickling"

I wonder if I'll be a good mom.

I always
laugh when people "toot" in public, well in private too.

I usually
shower? Notice how it wasn't on the above line. :)

I search
for my husband's wallet monthly.

I am not
good at crafty things.

I dancein the car.

I sing all the time. Don't care how I sound.

I wish - Leo & I were done with school.

I dislike
heavy garlic in foods & when people walk too slow down the stairs, in hallways, or when they just stop to talk Hello? People are behind you. I have some bitterness.

I rarely
stay angry.

I cry all the time. I cried for awhile yesterday after I smacked my head on the washer door at the laundromat. Man it hurt so bad.

I am not always lazy. There are days when I am a productive adult.

I lose -
in most games against Leo.

I fear
people running at me in basketball, football games, etc. I don't play any for that reason.

I'm confused
about most recipes. I need specific instructions people!

I need
daily snuggling.

I should
get out of my comfort zone more often.

I dream - of a big happy family.

I havetoo many of the same color brown eyeshadows. I can't help it, it's always the color I want.

I love
my sweet husband and our fun life.

I tag whoever else wants to fill this out!

School, Exercise, Life in General

I know I know, I suck at blogging. Seriously though, my life is not interesting right now. But I'll still share what's going on, mostly because I always get mad at people when they say their life isn't interesting. So yes.

School: Loving it! I'm finally in my ECE program at BYU and it's delightful. I enjoy all of my classes, prolly my favorite is Children's Literature. I get to read all these awesome children's books and my teacher is so enthusiastic. Oh, it's just great.

Exercise: At work, we've begun a Biggest Loser contest. We did it last year and let's just say, it didn't last long. Yeah, surprise surprise. But we are for real this year! I don't know why but my husband always laughs at me when I say I'm for real about being healthy. Is that funny? I don't think so. So, my plan thus far is eating better and exercising more. Yeah, apparently that works for some people. I don't know. I also have Beyonce up on my locker at work to motivate me, I just love her! I've rocked at eating this week, I have even been off of "coke" for 11 days! (I quote that because I will drink any caffeine, it used to be only Diet Coke, but now I'll take anything brown and bubbly) This will be intense if I actually stay off of "coke". I've never been able to do that. So, wish me luck on my new adventure into health!

Life in General:
Life is great. I really just enjoy life. Leo & I have played a few intense games of monopoly lately. Man, one of those, I whupped him! It is rare for me to win; oh it was so fun to make him feel like a little girl. Like a little sissy girl. My dad came out to Utah last weekend for my cousin's funeral. It was a really sad day, I didn't know this cousin very well but I just can't imagine what his immediate family is going through right now. Other than that sad experience, I'm content where I am. Leo & I are desperately trying to save money for a car, Betsy drives fine, but we're not sure how much longer she'll live. Neither one of us have ever dealt with a car payment and so we're trying really hard to not have one with our next car either. All is well.

If something exciting happens in my life, I'll throw it on here but don't hold your breath.

Relationship Info

Look at me go. Two posts in one day, can you tell I unplugged my cable and now I must turn to the computer to distract myself from homework? I stole this post from another blog, but I think it's kind of fun so I wanted to do it too. This is just some info about me and my husband, Leo.

How long did you date?
We dated for about 9 months and then we were engaged for 6 months, so 15 months.

Who eats more?
Mmm, that might be a tie... I'm a pretty good eater (what an unattractive description)

Who is taller?
Leo by like 7 inches.

Who is smarter?
Ooo, depends on the subject, 'cause I can pretty much guarantee that I know more than he does about what celebrities are up to lately. So there you go.

Whose temper is worse?
We're both way laid-back. There's not much tempering going on here, plus anytime I feel strongly about something, I usually just end up crying which always defeats the situation.

Who does the laundry?
I would say myself only because I am the folder. We equally stick it into the washer & dryer but I always fold the clothes. I enjoy it for some reason, I like to see pretty piles.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
I do unless I'm feeling brave. The right side is against the wall, so I feel very comfortable there. But the left side gets the lamp so if I ever need to read, I want to sleep on the left side but the door is near that side and I get scared really easily during the night, so if that scared feeling comes along, I'll steam roller Leo in the middle of the night to get to my comforting right side/wall.

Who pays the bills?
Both, almost all bills are automatic withdrawals, except for rent which we both do. Leo does take care of the credit card though.

Who cooks dinner?
Ooo, when I'm feeling like a good wife, I will, but let's be honest, how often does that feeling come around? We cook about the same amount, I have a great husband.

Who drives when you are together?
Leo, pretty much always.

Who kissed who first?
Me, definitely. Raintree apartments... under the stairwell... it started to rain and even though we'd only been dating 2 weeks, I couldn't resist the opportunity of a rainy first kiss. Get 'em girl.

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong?
He totally is, I'm suprisingly stubborn. He's a sweetheart.

Whose parents do you see the most?
Leo's, they live within an hour-drive and mine live within a 22 hour-drive.

Who proposed?
Leo, it was a perfect proposal.

Who is more sensitive?
I would say we are equally sensitive. We both have our emotional sides, he might not want me to share that, but oh well. Bless his heart.

Who has more friends?
Probably Leo, I'm not really social, and he's always been really comfortable in social situations.

Who has more siblings?
Me, I have 4, Leo has 3

Who wears the pants in the family?
I would say me, only because my husband is much sweeter than I am. This goes back to the stubborness.

Do you have a song?
I have like 10 of them for us, but he can't ever remember when I make them our song, so it's pointless. He probably would know the "No Matter What" song, it's by Badfinger, look it up! y'all would like it. it's adorable.

So that is probably way more information then you guys ever wanted to know about me and my husband. But yes. I really like us.

Guilty Pleasures

So, this is my post of guilty pleasures. We all have them. They are the things we do, watch, enjoy, or wish we could do that maybe we don't tell very many people about. However, I'm feeling brave and I am going to share them right here. right now. on this very blog.

1. Mindless computer games: these include mahjong (I rock at this one), bejeweled, spider solitaire, the sims :) my family knows im a dork about this one, and many many others. These games are great for killing time when I have an hour in between classes.

2. Burger Supreme: I've mentioned this place before on my blog. There's no way it's good for my body. A big greasy burger, covered in cheese and bacon, with a huge thing of fries and fry sauce washed down with a cherry coke. Yes, I confess. I enjoy this type of meal when afterwards you feel so full and gluttonous, you would unbutton your pants right in the restaurant.

3. Crap TV: The Tyra Show, Keeping up with the Kardashians (this one always makes me miss my sisters!), infomercials, America's Next Top Model, the list goes on and on. These shows are so addictive, yet I'm pretty sure they don't help my intelligence at all?

4. Musicals: Love them! Just to mention a few: Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, Chicago, High School Musical 1, 2, & 3... :) Such joy.

5. Socks: I love funky socks! Not toe socks, those kind of make me feel claustrophobic. I just like lots and lots of patterns and knee-highs always rock.

Desparate need for updating!

Okay, sorry it's been so long, I know it's really hard for the 3 people that read my blog because they have just been begging to hear about my life. Jay-Kay.

Alright, 1 minute update on my airport experience:
12/27- I flew out from SLC - Den - DFW. all in all, i was in airports for 14 hours. first flight was 4 hours late, second flight was only an hour late, but i got onto the flight and settled in and the stuard said my seat was double booked and that i had to get off, they put me on a flight 3 hours later. its possible that i went and cried in the bathroom stall a couple times. i did however get to read the entire 2nd twilight book. loved every minute of it! i can't help that i kind of love jacob, he will never be edward though. sorry, distracted. Coming back, my flight was at least better than the first, no connecting flights, just delays on the first one.

12/29- my second anniversary with leo! he was in utah, i went to texas alone! i missed him a lot, we couldn't talk very well either, because the goofball doesn't want a cellphone. it's okay, i still love him.

So the first couple days of my vacation, i spent time at my dad's, he's in shreveport, LA. I really miss him when I'm away for so long. we had a ball in Shreveport, we always do. We went to the Independence Bowl game (picture below). It was way fun! My cousin Jared was there too, which was fun because I hadn't seen him in years, and if you ever read this, Jared, stop feeding my dog fatty foods!

Both of my sisters came, Jess-23 & Loo-19. I love my sisters so much. It's so nice to have someone around to be girly with. We spent much time buying makeup, hair products, and I also got a sweet straighteneer and curling iron for Christmas, so of course with all these resources, we had to do some makeovers! My lil sis did my makeup and hair and i did her "waterfall of curls". Her hair is so dang pretty! Some day my hair will be long...

The rest of my trip was spent at my moms in Rowlett, Tejas! Man, I have the coolest lil brother & sister. The sisters above are my siblings from my mom and my dad and then I have 2 siblings from my mom and stepdad. Cody is 7 and Callie is 4. Love them! They make life incredibly fun! I'll throw in some pics of them, cause they're just oh so cute. I miss my mom a lot too, all the time. She is the most amazing person I know. We really are so much alike. I'm excited for the day when I can be closer to my family.

This is the only pic I had of Cody, I took more on my phone because it actually has a nice camera, so sorry theres only half the face.

So, yes, most of my trip was spent watching a never-ending amount of movies. Just to name a few: Bedtime Stories, Billy Madison, Wall-e, Across the Universe, Mamma Mia, Jumanji, The Women. We also did a lot of eating and shopping. Oh! I did get a new phone! which was much needed, well thats not true- my old phone worked fine but i wanted a fun cute phone! I always get the boring "free" phone! So yes, here are some pics of that too! What a great vacation!

I had a hard time coming home to school and work. I'm excited about my classes though, they're going to be really interesting! (that sounds sarcastic, but i promise its not!)
