September

I'm so excited for September. It used to be a not-so-great month because of school. But since I'm a graduate and all, no school for me! I keep waiting to miss it, but I think being a mom makes it pretty easy to not want homework and exams. I mean, look at this face:
 and this face:
Now, I look forward to cooler temperatures, leaves on the ground (you've got to appreciate it quickly, because before you know it, they will be swallowed up by snow. I know, I said it. Snow.) Plus, I love fall clothing. I really just endure summer clothing. But fall means sweaters, jeans, and boots. Beloved boots. I also get giddy thinking about the holidays. Especially with this little guy. Obviously, he won't be aware of what's going on, but I still can't wait to put on his Halloween pajamas, show him off to all the family at Thanksgiving, and let him experience Christmas lights.

Did you need one more?
Yep, a butterfinger. Chillax, he didn't eat it.

Feeling crafty

This is what it's like trying to take a picture of this boy lately. True, it does look like he has super-human speed and perhaps he does. But mostly, he's just a wiggle worm.

I'm slightly obsessed with baby pajamas. It's a weakness of mine. I used to be obsessed with shoes but seeing as how Jackson has worn shoes maybe twice, I decided to be realistic and not waste any more money on shoes. Buuuut pajamas are another story. I love them. Everything about them. From the cute round bum to how soft and snuggly it makes their little bodies.

Jackson is eating oatmeal cereal now! We tried rice cereal and let's just say, his system was backed up for a couple days. I was feeling so bad for him! There's nothing worse than feeling, shall we say, irregular. (TMI?) So we tried oatmeal and don't you worry, things are going well.

I'm sure you're wondering what any of this has to do with feeling crafty. It doesn't but I wanted to show y'all that my child is still absolutely adorable. I'm starting a project tomorrow. I'm going to make my own magnet board for his room. Look at how cute some of them are:

Wish me luck on this. Most likely I will gather all of the supplies and then it will sit on top of my washer/dryer. Shh, don't tell my husband.

He is my child!

I know everyone says he looks just like his dad. But, look! He looks like me too! Just with big beautiful brown eyes! The funniest part is that Jackson has a big dimple on his right cheek, you can't really see it in this picture, but both me and his dad have a dimple on our right cheek.

Rocking some tummy time!

I tried to get a picture of him with his cold. His nose is a little drippy here. I know you guys wanted a picture of this.

Lazy parenting

I caught Leo's cold and so now I'm drowning in gross-ness. Let's just say, I've done some parenting from the couch today. We watched way too much tv and did no tummy time (I know, parenting books would be apalled). We both stayed in our pjs all day which is prolly grosser for Jackson, seeing as how he spit up on himself. We watched Gnomeo and Juliet for the 3rd day in the row (Have y'all seen that? It's super cute.)

On another note, check out his new toy!

Mom brain

I'm seriously suffering from mom-brain. Let's talk about the things I've done today. Made myself a bowl of cereal and got a pen out of the junk-drawer for my spoon. No lie - I put it in my bowl. I also **twice** forgot to turn on the dryer when I was doing laundry. Moved everything over, put in a dryer sheet and never turned it on. When the washer beeped, I went to move it over and my clothes are still wet. Not a good sign. You probably needed to see another picture of my child, huh?

Been awhile

What a shock, it's been almost 3 months since I posted. Part of the reason why is because my blog stopped letting me add pictures, but mostly it's because being a stay-at-home mom is surprisingly busy.

As for an update, Jackson has grown into a super fun baby boy. He cries a whole lot less than he used to and he smiles and laughs all the time. The first month was absolutely crazy and I didn't want to listen when people told me that he would grow out of it, but it's true. He's very different now. I would definitely say he is still on the high maintenance side but I think most babies have their needy moments. He's already gotten 2 teeth and he's starting to roll over. He coos all the time and if anything gets near his mouth, he chomps on it and hard and with 2 teeth, it's pretty painful.

The summer has been really fun so far. We went on vacation with Leo's family up in the mountains. Jacks and I went to TX for a couple weeks to visit my family and I think it's safe to say that he is one loved kid. He's very lucky to have so much family that loves him. We also took him up to Boise to visit Leo's grandparents. Here's a couple pics for our vacations.
